which is not in sid tepl.

The new version of tepl requires libgedit-gfls so the easiest way to
get tepl updated is to wait for that to be accepted through the NEW
queue into Debian.

Sorry for the delay in updating gedit and its libraries. I was
initially blocked by https://bugs.debian.org/1072540 which I think is
fixed but I have not verified it yet since I haven't built the latest
gedit yet.

I have uploaded the new libgedit-gtksourceview, libgedit-gfls, and
tepl (this source package will eventually be renamed to libgedit-tepl)
to the NEW queue for experimental. The updated packaging has been
pushed to Salsa so you could build the packages locally if you want.

I've fixed this by doing
  $ mkdir -p /usr/share/libgedit-gtksourceview-300/styles/
  $ cp ./data/style-schemes/default-style-schemes/* /usr/share/libgedit-gtksourceview-300/styles/
and building again.

With this, I could coax latexila to build a little more,
and hang up on something else incomprehensible.

How exactly are you building libgedit-gtksourceview? I recommend using
sbuild (with the unshare backend) on unstable. If you are not running
Unstable or Testing (or Ubuntu 25.04), I recommend getting sbuild
0.88.1~bpo12+1 from bookworm-backports. If it still fails in sbuild,
please attach your full build log if you need help.
libgedit-gtksourceview builds for me and in Salsa CI:

Buildling libgedit-gtksourceview yourself might be unnecessary since
it looks like Andreas is packaging the new version of enter-tex
(currently named latexila in Debian): https://bugs.debian.org/1093957

In a sid chroot with the [builddeps for the] other packages.

Re-running this in the same chroot but clean built fine,
so I probably hit some sort of bizarre Build-Conflicts?
or my chroot was otherwise haunted? idk. disregard

It was, so we had a functional latexila build to support the ITS:
