Message #5 received at submit@bugs.debian.org (full text, mbox, reply):
Package: bacula-fd
Version: 7.4.4+dfsg-6
Severity: normal
Dear Maintainer,
bacula-fd crashes with SIGSEGV if it can't bind to the configure port on the configured network interface.
Steps to reproduce:
1. Configure bacula-fd to bind to an interface/port which is not available.
2. Start bacula-fd.
Expected behavior:
bacula-fd reports unavailability to bind and shuts down cleanly.
Current behavior:
bacula-fd reports unavailability and crashes - receives the signal SIGSEGV (11).

Hi Lukas,

thanks for your report, I've forwarded it upstream.
Out of curiosity: the standard port 9102 is registered with IANA for use
with bacula-fd. What is conflicting with it?
Regards,
Carsten

Hi Carsten,
it was conflicting with another instance of bacula-fd which accidentally
persisted running (I didn't report it because it was not reproducible).
Regards,
Lukas
