Could you provide some example code to be checked, please?
It's unclear to me what the problem is.

Message #13 received at 926642-quiet@bugs.debian.org (full text, mbox, reply):
Dear Mr. Yamane,
Thank you for your work.
For example, let the content of file.tex be as follows.
\documentclass{article}
\begin{document}
This is a sample file.
\end{document}
And please type following commands.
$ latex file
$ dvipdfmx -m 2 file.dvi
Then the results depends on the versions of dvipdfmx.
Recent dvipdfmx does not work well; it ignores -m option.
Sincerely yours,
Naoki Shioji

[Message part 1 (text/plain, inline)]
Dear dvipdfmx maintainers,
https://bugs.debian.org/926642
we got a bug report telling that the -m option recently broke, when
using dvipdfmx:
dvipdfmx in texlive-binaries_2018.20180907.48586 works well with "-m
option". However, dvipdfmx in texlive-binaries_2018.20181104.49075 and
later ignores "-m option".
The problem is reproducible w/ texlive checkout as of 2019-06-05 and I
did not find an entry in [1]. Hence I guess the issue is unknown and
still present. For reproduction compile a small TeX document:
\documentclass{article}
\begin{document}
This is a sample file.
\end{document}
and process it using dvipdfmx.
Please be so kind to comment and keep the Debian bug in Cc.
Many thanks,
Hilmar
