Hi,

Whilst working on the Reproducible Builds effort [0], we noticed
that ansible could not be built reproducibly.

Hi,

upstream has fixed it slightly different in
https://github.com/ansible/ansible/pull/51453. This PR doesn't apply cleanly
to the stable-2.7 branch. I'll see if I can find some time to backport it soon.

Hi Chris,

an upstream change shortly after your bug report made the patch not
apply anymore, and the docs build system has been revamped in IIRC v2.8.

I'm currently preparing an upload for 2.10 which will include major
upstream changes (the core and the modules will now be shipped and
versioned independently), and I'm hoping to be able to make ansible
build reproducibly again after getting 2.10 out of the door.
