[Message part 1 (text/plain, inline)]
Package: qemu-user-static
Version: 1:2.8+dfsg-6+deb9u2

Steps to reproduce:

qemu-debootstrap --arch=armhf --variant=minbase --verbose --components=main
--resolve-deps stretch /tmp/stretch-armhf
chroot /tmp/stretch-armhf/ apt-get install -y aptitude
chroot /tmp/stretch-armhf/ aptitude update

=> Segfault

The same procedure with a Jessie-based chroot works fine.

Both armhf and armel arches seem to be affected.

I assume this failure is triggered by changes in aptitude - but no idea what is
wrong exactly.

The host system is amd64-based.

This is an old bug about qemu-user. *Lots* of changes has been made
to qemu since that, and there were no reports or other indications
that this issue still exists. Let's close this bug report now (with
more or less arbitrary version). If you think this is incorrect and
the issue still exists within current qemu (7.2), please feel free
to re-open this bug report and provide some up-to-date information.

Thanks,

/mjt
