Hi,

libnm-glib has been replaced by libnm and libnm-gtk has been replaced by
libnma.

Your package seems to use the GIR bindings for those libraries.
I'm not quite sure if the gir1.2-nmgtk-1.0 dependency is needed, as I
didn't find any references to NMGtk.

Please port qreator to use NM-1.0.typelib and NMA-1.0.typelib
(gir1.2-nma-1.0) instead

The API documentation for libnm can be found at [1].
The API documentation for libnma is available in the libnma-dev package
starting with version 1.4.6-1.

Regards,
Michael

Michael

NM-1.0.typelib has been split into it's own package gir1.2-nm-1.0 in
version 1.8.0-2 (currently available in experimental, will be uploaded
to sid once buster opens for development).

Which means the following package dependencies should be updated
accordingly:
gir1.2-nmgtk-1.0 → gir1.2-nma-1.0
gir1.2-networkmanager-1.0 → gir1.2-nm-1.0

Would be great if you can prepare those changes in experimental or make
them early in the buster release cycle.

It's now also available online at

With the upload of network-manager-applet_1.8.10-4, the legacy libnm-gtk
library has been dropped, making this bug report RC. Bumping accordingly.

Hm, you dropped the dependency, but I don't think this is actually a
proper fix, as I still see this in the code:

$ grep import -R | grep NM
extensions/cpsection/network/model.py:from gi.repository import NMClient

I.e., sugar still uses the old libnm-glib based GIR bindings (
gir1.2-networkmanager-1.0 to be precise).

The code should be ported to use gir1.2-nm-1.0, the libnm based GIR
bindings.

Fwiw, the dependency on gir1.2-nmgtk-1.0 was wrong, it should have been
gir1.2-networkmanager-1.0. Now, by no longer ensuring NMClient is
installed, you have an undeclared dependency and another RC bug.

Takes longer to talk about it than do it. ;-)

Nobody told upstream. Upstream has ported now. You may cherry-pick.

For your interest, neither the new nor the old API actually works on
recent Debian or Ubuntu; silently failing.
