Package: dpkg
Version: 1.18.21
Severity: normal
Hi,
Ubuntu ppa's (launchpad) do not support .buildinfo files and reject
them:
Rejected: Unable to identify file icinga2_2.6.1-1~ppa1~trusty1_source.buildinfo
(admin) in changes.
Further error processing not possible because of a critical previous
error.
Please make it possible to disable .buildinfo generation or inclusion in
changes files.
Thanks
Alex

Message #10 received at 853795@bugs.debian.org (full text, mbox, reply):
As a workaround, I figured out I can pass to debuild
--buildinfo-option="-O"
which makes dpkg-genbuildinfo send the contents of the buildinfo file to
stdout instead of creating the file, which means that it does not appear
in the .changes file either.

Launchpad has supported .buildinfo files for a while now.

And there's this workaround. So I don't think there's much point in
adding explicit support to disable this. I'm thus closing this request.
If you still would like to see support for this, please reopen.
Thanks,
