Dear maintainer,

while working on the “reproducible builds” effort [1], we have noticed
that fizmo could not be built reproducibly.

The attached patch ensures a stable file order when creating a static
library. Once applied, fizmo can be built reproducibly in our current
experimental framework.

Thanks
Sascha

Hi,

sorry it took some time to bring the package up to date regarding
reproducible builds.

The patch has been introduced some while ago into libfizmo 0.7.12 /
fizmo 0.8.2. Since the package is however currently in the process of
being split up into separate libraries and frontends it took much longer
than anticipated to bring these new versions into debian.

Today, a patched version of libfizmo finally made it into the testing
branch. As soon as all the other parts are completed and the old version
has been completely replaced I'll mark this bug as closed.

Best regards,
Christoph.

Just a little update:

Almost all of the packages required to resolve the non-reproducible bug
have by now been processed. We're only missing fizmo-ncursesw, which is
currently still waiting in the NEW queue. Once this has been accepted,
this issue will have been resolved.

All the best,
Christoph.

The last new package ("fizmo-ncursesw") containing the bugfix has by now
been accepted and with it this issue has been solved.

A few more details:

This bug was filed when the fizmo was implemented as a single package,
whereas there are now eight. Since the transition took much longer than
expected, solving the reproducible issue was also delayed. Sorry for
that. The split is also the reason why this bug report wasn't closed
with a package submission, since both fizmo-console and fizmo-ncursesw
both required an update (as they both depend on libfizmo, which is were
the fix was applied).
