I can't use darkice at all. It's been a long time since i tried it
out, so maybe I am really rusty, but it just doesn't work here.

Hi,
I'm darkice maintainer. This is just the error you get when you can not
connect to the server.
Darkice is being used in production systems for more than 15 years, so
this is not a bug. Please close it.

Thanks,
Rafael Diniz

Also, please use trunk, which has a bugfix for server connection issue:
https://github.com/rafael2k/darkice/tree/master/darkice/trunk

If needed, I can launch 1.3 version.

Kind regards,
Rafael Diniz
