Package: php5-dev
Version: 5.6.17+dfsg-3
The file /usr/lib/php5/build/ltmain.sh is symlinked to
../../../share/libtool/config/ltmain.sh, which does not exist in the
libtool package as of version 2.4.6-0.1 (it was present in 2.4.2-1.11).
The new path seems to be /usr/share/libtool/build-aux/ltmain.sh.

I wonder how many of the incompatible changes in PHP 7 will require
working around in stuff that I use (and that needs to remain PHP-5
compatible) if PHP 5 is no longer available.

Not a question for this bugreport, but for a Google, right?

You're the one who brought up PHP5 going away in Debian soon. My
rhetorical question was intended as a polite way of complaining about
that statement by pointing out how it will likely be troublesome for me.
