While trying out zoom-player on an other PC;
I allways get it to complain about some missing fonts,
even after having installed all the same likely needed

The required fonts are in xfonts-75dpi and xfonts-100dpi (Adobe Helvetica)
and xfonts-base (8x13). If you're running Zoom remotely, the fonts need to be
installed on the X server. (I have the same problem running Zoom remotely,
displaying on a Fedora system.)

Stephen

Another solution seems to be to enable anti-aliasing, which causes Zoom to
use Xft rather than standard X fonts:

	cp /usr/share/zoom/zoomrc ~/.zoomrc
	sed -i "s/antialias no/antialias yes/g" ~/.zoomrc

Could you try that and see if it fixes things for you? Since the Debian
package builds with proper Xft support we could just enable that by
default...

Stephen

Both works now, Xft should work out of the box everywhere.

This disclaimer from 2002 is not really applicable anymore:

# !! IMPORTANT !! (Well, sort of)
# The default zoomrc file now sets anti-aliasing to off by default,
# because many people have reported problems with Xft's selection
# of fonts. Blech. Reset to 'yes' to get anti-aliasing back.
