Subject: php7.0: Please update dependency on libpng-dev
Date: Thu, 07 Jan 2016 09:47:29 +0100
Package: php7.0
Severity: important
User: libpng@packages.debian.org
Usertags: libpng16-transition

Dear php7.0 maintainers,

Currently we are preparing the transition of libpng1.2 to libpng1.6.
The transition bug is #650601.

A rebuild of all packages depending on libpng-dev and
libpng(3,12,12-0)-dev has been done. The result with buildlogs can be
found here: https://libpng.sviech.de/

php7.0 builds fine with libpng16, you can see the buildlog here:
https://libpng.sviech.de/php7.0.build

Howver, php7.0 (build-)depends an versioned development package
libpng12-dev. Please update your (build-)depends to libpng-dev to
help in the transition.

This bug will become RC as soon as the transition starts, as it is
planned to remove libpng12.

Thanks!

tobi,

php7.0 package depends on:

libpng-dev | libpng12-dev

which should be fine for the transition. I have cleaned up this in git
and I have to check whether it's fine with backports before I\\ include
it in some next upload, and I am closing the bug as there's nothing to
fix related to the transition.

Cheers,
Ondrej
