[Message part 1 (text/plain, inline)]
Package: chromium
Version: 47.0.2526.16-1
Severity: important

Dear Maintainer,

I tried to install chromium 47 from experimental, but I found out that
it completely breaks the GPU accelleration. This might have something to
do with this entry in the Debian ChangeLog:

* Enable accelerated video decoding (closes: #793815).

I noticed the issue because chromium got very slow. In chrome://gpu the
Graphics Feature Status flags are all bad (see attachment), while they're fine
in chromium 46. I also get this output from chromium 47 that I don't get
with chromium 46:

[26442:26442:1112/193230:FATAL:sandbox_seccomp_bpf_linux.cc(203)] Check failed: policy->PreSandboxHook().

Downgrating to chromium 46 solves the issue.
I hope this can be fixed before chromium 47 hits Sid.

Thank you,

I see the exact same problem - chromium becomes totally unusable (and
the user nauseated); there is a delay of nearly a second after every
keypress. Rendering about:blank takes half a second; all websites are
visibly rendered from top to bottom, all with a completely new profile.

This is on a Thinkpad T440s with Intel Haswell-ULT GPU.

Even after installing chromium-dbg, the stacktrace does not become any
more helpful.

Google's Chrome is not affected, it works fine.

Starting chromium with --disable-seccomp-filter-sandbox fixes the
problem at the expense of security.

Thinkpad T430, Ivy Bridge i5-3230M.

I get the following messages:

[19549:19577:1207/174928:ERROR:nss_util.cc(839)] After loading Root
Certs, loaded==false: NSS error code: -8018
[19596:19596:1207/174928:FATAL:sandbox_seccomp_bpf_linux.cc(203)] Check
failed: policy->PreSandboxHook().

(The latter one apparently relevant to this bug) followed by a trace.

--disable-seccomp-filter-sandbox does work around the issue.

Performance in my case is not as slow the previous commenter describes
but CPU usage is a lot higher.

On my desktop, it's an AMD OLAND GPU using free drivers (radeonsi), and
I get no issue at all (also not the NSS message FWIW). Both machines
running up-to-date stretch with chromium 47.0.2526.73-1

Got the same with an Intel GPU but I didn't notice the problem until the
bug report as my CPU is beefy enough. Intel HD Graphics 4600 in my
