Subject: linux-image-4.3.0-trunk-686: Failed to find cpu0 device node
Date: Sun, 08 Nov 2015 10:38:07 +0100
[Message part 1 (text/plain, inline)]
Package: src:linux
Version: 4.3-1~exp1
Severity: normal

Dear Debian folks,

starting with Linux 4.3 the following message is printed to the screen
during start.

Failed to find cpu0 device node

In ticket #1254210 in the Red Hat Bugzilla [1], Josh Boyer writes the
following.

> This is a warning message from the OF layer in the kernel. Since i686
> has CONFIG_OF enabled (for OLPC reasons) and your machine doesn't
> utilize OF or device trees, it errors out. There's nothing actually
> wrong here.

If nothing is actually wrong, should the message even be shown?

Thanks,

Paul
