The following patch allows zenirc users to connect to an IRC server
which requires a password, by using the /server command in the zenirc
buffer and then supplying the password in the minibuffer. 
This is more secure than having the pwds stored in plaintext somewhere.
Nonetheless, the passwords can be viewed when C-h v zenirc-server-alist
is typed. Maybe you could improve the patch in this direction?
