Message #5 received at submit@bugs.debian.org (full text, mbox, reply):
Package: libkdecorations2-5
Version: 4:5.3.2-1
Severity: critical
Justification: breaks unrelated software
I'm using kde plasma 5 from testing with kwin-x11.
After updating libkdecorations2-5 from 4:5.3.2-1 to 4:5.3.2-2 kwin crashes all the time. Mostly after entering your credentials it even doesn't manage to start up the desktop. After a while a message appears, that kwin crashed several times, if you want to change to an other window manager. The kwin version installed is 4:5.3.2-3.
The stacktrace is following:
Application: KWin (kwin_x11), signal: Segmentation fault
Using host libthread_db library "/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libthread_db.so.1".

Control: affects 796184 + kwin
Can confirm that. The workaround is to download
libkdecorations2-5_5.3.2-1_*deb and
libkdecorations2private5_5.3.2-1_*.deb from
http://snapshot.debian.org/package/kdecoration/4%3A5.3.2-1/
and install that.
Problem is that it now is build against libstdc++ from this transition:
https://release.debian.org/transitions/html/libstdc++6.html
It should have never been transitioned to testing.

Same here, marking the version accordingly so it is clear that this is a
new bug in 5.3.2-2 (although it is too late now).

I don't see the bug listed in the kwin BTS despite the affects. Possibly
because the kwin binary package doesn't exist. Marking kwin-x11 as
affected as well.
