Message #5 received at submit@bugs.debian.org (full text, mbox, reply):
[Message part 1 (text/plain, inline)]
Package: libreoffice-impress
Version: 1:4.3.3-2
Severity: normal
Dear Maintainer,
When I add a drawing element, e.g. a rectangle, to a slide and add the
animation effect "Stretchy" with the default setting "Direction: Across", the
element and all other elements later in the animation sequence are never shown.
The animation just stops finally after the corresponding number of
clicks/keypresses.
Strechty effect ainmations with other directions, e.g. "From bottom left",
don't show this problem, e.g. they work as expected and have no effect on
subsequent other animations.
The attached presentation with two drawing elements exhibits this behaviour but
works if I change the animation sequence of rectangle 1 and rectangle 2.

I can confirm this problem with 1:4.3.3-2 on unstable.
I've now upgraded to LO 1:4.4.2~rc1-1 from experimental and tried
your example.odp. Unfortunately the behaviour is still the same.
Cheers,
gregor

Additional data point:
Both the original submitter and I can confirm, that the problem goes
away if we turn off hardware acceleration in
Tools→Options→LibreOffice→View.

Hello Wolfgang,
I think yours bug is similar to this other bug :
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=63443
Can you send me the output of "lsusb" and "lspci" commands please?
If you can test with a newer version of LO (from backports maybe), it's fine.
Regards,

Wolfgang just confirmed to me in a private conversation that both
bullseye and bookworm are still affected by this bug.
Cheers,

Wolfgang informed me that he had the chance to try again during the
holiday season, and that the bug is not present anymore in the
testing version. I'm adjusting the bug metadata accordingly.
(Probably the bug can be closed but I'm not sure what the best
version would be.)
Cheers,

As long as it's fixed I don't necessarily care. So closing with
1:7.4.3-1 (as -2 was just disabling the tests on s390x and
1:7.4.3-1 is the branch point for the 7.5.0 packages in NEW.
If someone found out on which version this exactly was fixed, it would
be better, but no big deal.
Important thing is that it's fixed :-)
Regards,
Rene
