Dear Maintainer,

Currently libbsd FTBFS when compiled in new architectures that is not
supported on the outdated package config files.

I just created this patch that updates the config files before building,
removing some logic from the rules file, as suggested in:

https://wiki.debian.org/qa.debian.org/FTBFS#A2014-01-21_using_dh-autoreconf_during_the_build

I tested it on ppc64el and it worked.

Thank you,
Breno

Thanks for the patch! Although I much prefer to just run the
config.{sub, guess} updater, so that I can catch when a new autoreconf
needs to be done upstream, and other distributions and users benefit
as well. I'll be releasing a new upstream libbsd version this week,
which will be covering the autoconf side of things, and will be adding
the autotools-dev helpers to handle the config.{sub, guess} stuff in
the packaging.

Thanks,
Guillem

Hi Guillem,

Did you get a chance to look at this defect? libbsd is still failing to
build on ppc64el, as you can see in the following build log:

http://ftp.unicamp.br/pub/ppc64el/debian/buildd-upstream/build_logs/logs/libbsd_0.6.0-2_ppc64el.build

This package (libbsd) is currently the major offender for ppc64el, since
a lot of packages depends on it. The previous one, openssl(Bug#745657).
just accepted the ppc64el patches earlier today.

I would really appreciate if you can submit a newer version with this
problem fixed.

Thank you,
Breno

Sorry I dropped the ball on this, I'm in the process to finish the new
upstream release, so hopefully I'll have a new version during this
week, also uploaded to Debian.

Thanks,
Guillem
