Dear LTSP maintainers,

currently it is not possible to use lightdm as
DEFAULT_DISPLAY_MANAGER, because the lightdm init script
(/etc/init.d/lightdm) gets removed during LTSP client boot (in
/usr/share/ltsp/init-ltsp.d/50-rm-system-services).

Please let the lightdm init script remain in the LTSP chroot. Thanks!

Mike (aka sunweaver from Debian Edu team)

IIRC, this is configurable (setting in lts.conf).
See how this is done in d-e wheezy LDAP lts.conf default entry.

You'll want to set in lts.conf:

  DEFAULT_DISPLAY_MANAGER=/usr/bin/lightdm
  KEEP_SYSTEM_SERVICES=lightdm
