Subject: Maintain abiword with Debian Jr. team?!
Date: Tue, 12 Aug 2014 21:37:47 +0200
Hi!

This package (abiword) is part of the junior-writing package.

Do you want to mantain this with the Debian Junior team?
Until the team documentation is available on the Debian wiki,
see the team list post regarding package maintenence. [0]

Dear Carlo, Per and Jose,

Thank you for your interest to Abiword.

Your help is very welcome.

I might be occasionally available for sponsorship and review of your changes.
However my primary reasons for searching for (co-)maintainer(s) are lack of
time and interest to Abiword...

Here are some links that (I hope) you might find useful:

I don't know why Debian Junior Team might be interested to take care of
Abiword. At the moment Abiword repository is at collab-maint where all DDs can
contribute. For now let's keep repository where it is although I do not mind
if Junior team will be listed as Maintainer and take over the packaging.

Also please take care of "wv" dependency package.

Thank you.

The reason why Debian Junior is interested in abiword is because it is
in one of our metapackages: junior-writing. Since abiword was up for
adoption I thought you were going to leave it to its fate.

Perhaps it is better to not put Debian Jr as maintainers, since the team
so far is small and would rather like to focus on building the pure blend.

We will however help out if we can with packaging, packaging review,
and uploads.

I see, thanks.

Absolutely -- that's the plan. :) But since I did not orphan it (yet) I hope
to find someone who cares and leave Abiword in good hands...

Makes sense.

That will be much appreciated. Many thanks.

Hi!
Arypsg and Carlos, you expressed interest about abiword. Is either of you
going to update it to the just released new version?

I can do this myself, but, I don't use abiword and am just one of people
doing QA. Such maintenance is much better done by a proper maintainer.

It's a package with a fair amount of users, thus it'd be nice to get the
bugfixed in.
