* Package name    : fonts-cosmic-sans-neue
  Version         : 1.3.1
  Upstream Author : Jany Belluz <jany.belluz AT hotmail.fr>
* URL             : http://openfontlibrary.org/en/font/cosmic-sans-neue-mono
* License         : OFL-1.1
  Programming Lang: font
  Description : font family with great monospaced variant for programmers

 A programming font, designed with functionality in mind, and with some
 wibbly-wobbly handwriting-like fuzziness that makes it unassumingly
 cool.
 .
 Not related to other Cosmic Sans from the Internet. This one has Neue
 at the end, and it changes everything (most notably the coolness
 level). The name comes from my realization that at some point it looked
 like the mutant child of Comic Sans and Helvetica Neue. Hopefully it is
 not the case any more.
 .
 Inspirational sources include Inconsolata and Monaco.

Ugh, really? Could you please ask upstream to rename the font to something
sane?

Especially that the infamous font this name alludes to might be perhaps fit
for a tombstone you put for your worst enemy, or maybe even not that.

So there actually are _three_ fonts with very similar names. With names,
it's quite important to reduce the risk of mistaking one for another, and
here you have pretty much a guarantee mistakes _will_ happen.

Please pick something unique!

I just forwarded your concern to the upstream and here is a reply from
the upstream author [1], can you mention your concerns directly to
author on the thread?. If not let me know here on this thread and I
will forward it to upstream.

I have just choosen the upstream name even though I know its
misleading just because font is popular with this name (At first I
went to wrong page because of this name). If upstream changes the name
I'm happy to adopt it.

Hi!

After a discussion with the upstream, the font got renamed to "Fantasque
Sans Mono", which doesn't seem to conflict with anything relevant.

Meow!
