Subject: All tests fail with dpkg-buildpackage
Date: Fri, 23 Aug 2013 14:12:57 +0200
Package: php5-cgi
Version: 5.4.4-14+deb7u3
Severity: serious
Justification: fails to build from source (but built successfully in the past)

I cannot build PHP from apt-get source on a fresh debian wheezy installation since ALL tests will fail during the build process!

I get the following errors during the testing phase

Warning: PHP Startup: Unable to load dynamic library '/tmp/php5-5.4.4/apache2-build/modules/curl.so' - /tmp/php5-5.4.4/apache2-build/modules/curl.so: undefined symbol: core_globals_id in Unknown on line 0

Warning: PHP Startup: enchant: Unable to initialize module
Module compiled with build ID=API20100525,TS
PHP compiled with build ID=API20100525,NTS
These options need to match
 in Unknown on line 0

I'm getting them for ANY given module php tries to load during the testing phase.

Steps to reproduce:

apt-get source php5
dpkg-buildpackage -us -uc

Expected result: Compilation & Tests succeed,

Actual result: Compilation succeeds, but all tests fail.

[Message part 1 (text/plain, inline)]
Version: 5.5.0~beta1-2
Control: severity -1 normal
Control: reassing -1 src:php5

Please try building PHP package in clean environment.

I have just successfully rebuilt PHP 5.4.4-14+deb7u3 in my wheezy
cowbuilder chroot including all the tests.

The tests run clashes with already installed PHP configuration and that got
fixed in:

php5 (5.5.0~beta1-2) experimental; urgency=low

  [...]
  * Add -n to run-tests.php for php to not pick-up any local php.ini.
It's not a problem on sbuilds, but it might break
when building locally. (Courtesy of Andreas Pour)
