I got bitten by this too, but I think this is a duplicate of #716659,
which has been fixed already.  I suggest merge+close.

I did a big rewrite of maintainer scripts and it's still rough at the
edges, but it made me add a reportbug scripts to have more information at
hand, when (normal[*]) people report bugs :).

* - means those who understand what they are doing and using reportbug...
