Package: inkscape
Version: 0.48.3.1-1.1
Severity: normal
Dear Maintainer,
I am testing wheezy on my laptop.
Inkscape crashes when trying to render a LaTeX equation inside a .svg file created by Octave (note that Octave relies on GNUplot to create figures).
The problem occurs every time I type this from my xterm:
octave % Start octave.
plot(sin(1:10)) % Plot anything, say, sinus of one to 10.
print('-dsvg','/tmp/toto.svg'); % Save the plot into svg file.
exit % Exit octave.
inkscape /tmp/toto.svg & % Start Inkscape.
Extensions -> Render -> LaTeX Formula
Type `(/x+y/)' and then `Apply'
Inkscape crashes (Segmentation fault).
If I try to render the same equation in a new empty file inside Inkscape, everything works (beautiful equation and no crash).
I will send the file `toto.svg' in a separate email.
Does anybody have a suggestion?
Thanks for your time,
Pierre

Message #39 received at 696436@bugs.debian.org (full text, mbox, reply):
This may be fixed in version 0.48.4 of inkscape, but Stable systems
using Debian 7.x wheezy are still affected.
A patch is available. Can it be applied to the Wheezy version and
updated accordingly?
Thanks
Andrés
