Dear Maintainer,
This bug report was also filed in Ubuntu and can be found at
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/searchmonkey/+bug/1071989
The description, from Saji Nediyanchath, follows:
The searchmonkey version in the Ubuntu repositories is '0.8.1'. But the
latest stable is 2.0.0 released in May. Why is it not being updated to
this version?

Message #10 received at 692303@bugs.debian.org (full text, mbox, reply):
Hello,
I'm a co-maintainer for this package and wanted to let you know that the
author of searchmonkey has no plans to release searchmonkey 2.0 for
Linux at this time. The current version in Debian and Ubuntu is the
latest stable available upstream.
