Dear Maintainer,

   * What led up to the situation?
It used to work, so I guess it's this update:
mumble:amd64 1.2.2-6+squeeze1 -> 1.2.3-349-g315b5f5-2
   * What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or
     ineffective)?
Connect to a server.
   * What was the outcome of this action?
Error message (see the attachment) and freeze

Regards,
Valentin

Hi,

I think the error messages that Valentin is seeing are not related to the problem. (The unusal messages about libmumble.so are caused by some problem with OpenGL drivers and should only affect the overlay)

For me Mumble often hang on the server connection dialog which was identified by the the developers (in an IRC conversion) as a race condition in the bonjour support.

I rebuild the Debian package (1.2.3-349-g315b5f5-2.2) without bonjour support (CONFIG+=no-bonjour) and it hasn't been hanging since.

Control: tag -1 patch

Jens:

It looks like the 1.2.3-349-g315b5f5-2.2+deb7u1 version in Wheezy also needs a
patch to implement upstream commit dee463ef52d8406d0a925facfabead616f0f9dc2
like was done for the 1.2.4-0.2 version currently in Unstable and Testing.

https://github.com/mumble-voip/mumble/commit/dee463ef52d8406d0a925facfabead616f0f9dc2

The same patch used for 1.2.4-0.2 seems to apply fine. Attached.
If you get a chance, try this patch on 1.2.3-349-g315b5f5-2.2+deb7u1 just to
verify that this also fixes the problem.

I'll see if I can queue up a fix for this for the .5 Wheezy point release.
