Subject: cython: Use update-alternatives to manage cython / cython3
Date: Mon, 27 Aug 2012 17:14:50 -0700
[Message part 1 (text/plain, inline)]
Source: cython
Version: 0.17~beta3-1

The current `cython` / `cython3` executable split is a little
uncomfortable, especially since each should be functionally
equivalent. I suggest instead that we name the executables
`cython.py2` and `cython.py3` and use `update-alternatives` to
manage a symlink.

Since this seems like a lot of work, I've attached a debdiff
which does it all for you. :)

What do you think?

doesn't it make sense to keep cython3 and let it run in python3 codebase
mode (-3) by default?
