Dear Maintainer,

The gnome-terminal sometimes (ie. once or twice a week) crashes while
another window is active.

I have this in /var/log/syslog:
[678152.986708] gnome-terminal[21244]: segfault at 1 ip
00007f974680e876 sp 00007fff68877b80 error 4 in
libgobject-2.0.so.0.3200.3[7f97467f7000+4e000]

I use Gnome 3 and the gnome-shell. My graphic driver is Nouveau.
I use about six tabs.

Valentin

Package: gnome-terminal
Version: 3.4.1.1-1
Followup-For: Bug #679810

I can reproduce this bug on my system as follows:

 1. open a new gnome-terminal window
 2. open a new tab
 3. detach the latter tab
 4. open a pager (e.g. less) or an editor (e.g. vim) in this tab

Thereafter, all opened gnome-terminal windows close, with the error
already mentioned in syslog.

A backtrace (with libglib2.0-0-dbg installed) is attached.

Dear Maintainer,

Sometimes gnome-terminal crashes, I can't reproduce the problem, the problem
happens suddenly every once in a while, I usually have a bunch of terminals
opened but I can't figure out how to fix it .

I updated from squeeze to wheezy, when i was at squeeze things worked like a
charm but in wheezy this bug is very annoying, latest bug was 'general
protection' and before that was 'segfault' .

I suspect it's the same as the recently-fixed
https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=730389
https://git.gnome.org/browse/gnome-terminal/commit/?id=f65261a

Could you maybe try to backport that patch to your gnome-terminal?
