Package: dia
Version: 0.97.2-8
Severity: grave
Justification: causes non-serious data loss
Dear Maintainer,
Dia doesn't run, it fails only shows up an blank splash and then it dies
the trace of this action is the following:
The program 'dia-normal' received an X Window System error.
This probably reflects a bug in the program.
The error was 'BadMatch (invalid parameter attributes)'.
(Details: serial 1537 error_code 8 request_code 70 minor_code 0)
I'm running Awesome wm, if this could help.

I just verified that dia-normal starts up fine on i386, under awesome
(as well as gnome).
Are you sure you aren't using foreign or self-built packages? Can you
reproduce the issue on a clean/freshly installed Debian system?
Thanks,
Roland
PS: Issue unreproducible, maybe not actually Severity: grave?

Hi,
just stumbled over this report and have to add a "me too" to the
unreproducable bit, on GNOME only and am64 though.
I'd say this should be downgraded to "important" as the package works
for most users and does not actually produce any data loss (or did it
erase files while crashing? or crashed *after* you did some work in it?)
Regards
Evgeni

I am also using Awesome (from Debian Sid/unstable, which was recently
upgraded to 3.4.13) and Dia starts fine on my system.
$ dpkg --print-architecture
i386
Josue, could you test again if that is reproducible?
Thanks,
Paul
PS: Evgeni, thank you for your RCBW effort. To keep threading could you
use
$ bts show --mbox 679586
and import that mbox file to your mail program. Then you can just use
reply to all and threading is kept. That would be awesome.
