Hi,
remotetea FTBFS with Java7 as default java. Attached is a patch that
can be used as an example of how to fix that issue.
We are currently evaluating whether or not to migrate to Java7 as
default. We know it is very late in the release cycle, but the reason
is #675495.

In Ubuntu, the attached patch was applied to fix this FTBFS, by doing the following changes:
* debian/patches/add-build-xml.patch: Added build.xml, replacing
original patch, which appeared to be an auto-generated one.
* debian/patches/set-encoding.patch: Fix FTBFS by setting encoding on
javac and javadoc tasks.
Thanks for considering the patch.

Control: severity -1 serious
Dear Maintainer,
OpenJDK6 support will be dropped from Debian. Hence the severity of this
bug is release critical now. Please transition your package to use
OpenJDK7 as the default java implementation for Jessie. In most cases a
patch has already been provided for the transition. Please feel free to
ask questions about this bug report or the transition in general on the
debian-java mailing list.
For the Debian Java Team

Dear maintainer,
I've prepared an NMU for remotetea (versioned as 1.0.7-2.1) and
uploaded it to DELAYED/2. Please feel free to tell me if I
should delay it longer.
Regards.

Message #29 received at 678380@bugs.debian.org (full text, mbox, reply):
I already prepare a patch for this problem, but I never found the way to build it inside pbuilder with the current experimental default-jdk version.
It seems to me that it should be very easy to use experimental inside cowbuilder/pbuilder... Maybe I did not found the riht documentation.
Thanks for your NMU.
Fred.
