at least the reportbug dependencies list would be helpful.

Message #20 received at 672544@bugs.debian.org (full text, mbox, reply):
I am having this problem on an AMD64 Debian testing system, and I
believe I may well have identified the root cause of the problem.
As far as I can see, this problem emerged with version 2.6.1-7 of amule,
in which the only substantive change I can see is the hardening of
mkFileSum.c due to bug #653503. In this bug, aMule developer Stu Redman
objects to this action with the following:
> patch from message #31 is not only useless (mkFileSum is just a build
> tool, no need to pack it into a package or harden it).
> It also breaks cross platform compilation.
> I suggest you revert it.
So, with aMule breaking in a version where mkFileSum was hardened on one
hand, and an aMule developer arguing against such a change on the charge
that it would break cross platform compilation on the other, I think
there is a very strong case for reverting this change as it seems highly
likely to me that this is the root cause of the crash both myself and
the bug reporter are seeing.

sorry but it's a non sequitur: point to the lines in the backtrace
(you can run amule with gdb and get a new one) where it's stating the
mmkFileSum is the culprit of the change. Else your is just a
speculation without any fact to back it up.
