When I tried to log using plasma desktop environment, the environment start to
load, and at the end of the splashscreen, I got an error message :
plasma-desktop : signal segmentation fault (11)

>From there, I have KDE bug report tool which opens, and after I end with an
empty screen and have to restart kdm.

Attached is the bug report file from the KDE utility.

[Message part 1 (text/plain, inline)]
Package: plasma-desktop
Version: 4:4.7.4-2+b1

--- Please enter the report below this line. ---
Plasma-desktop crashes when adding a python-based plasmoid like plasma-widget-
veromix (from unstable/Sid repos) (doesn't mind if it goes to desktop, panel,
or systray) or other like MyEpisodes and Tail (both of them old-plasmoids from
kde-look.org).

Without any of these widgets present, plasma-desktop works with no problem.

Package: plasma-desktop
Version: 4:4.7.4-2+b1
Followup-For: Bug #671932

Instead of switching (i.e. deleting) to a fresh plasma configuration, it is
also possible to remove the plasma-scriptengine-python package as a stopgap
measure. Plasma will be able to start again, and Python widgets will cease to
work (presumably until the package is reinstalled).

This bug went through sid and I found it on testing now.

Thanks for the removing plasma-scriptengine-python workaround, it worked
like a charm.

Hi all,
I just got the bug described hear in testing. I tried the solution:
removing plasma-scriptengine-python package and things are back to
normal. Thanks to all of you. Never forget: Debian (and Debian users) rocks!
