I am closing this bugreport because the issue seems to be fixed.
I cannot reproduce it with the version of gnat currently in testing
(gnat-4.6 4.6.3-7) — that version builds fine in sbuild:
Build Architecture: amd64
Build-Space: 1553412
Build-Time: 1364
Distribution: sid
Host Architecture: amd64
Install-Time: 318
Job: /tmp/gnat-4.6_4.6.3-7.dsc
Machine Architecture: amd64
Package: gnat-4.6
Package-Time: 1685
Source-Version: 4.6.3-7
Space: 1553412
Status: successful
Version: 4.6.3-7
Compressed sbuild log attached for reference.

I missed the fact that gnat-4.4 is _also_ in testing. My apologies.

since we have gnat-4.6 in wheezy and gnat-4.4 does not build anymore
(see #669513), can gnat-4.4 be removed?

Yes but maybe notify the maintainers of the sole package still depending
on it, ghdl. This package is the reason I've refrained from asking for
removal of gnat-4.4 sthus far.
Thanks for your time and concern

Since you are a gnat-4.4 uploader, will you file the removal request? I
will file a bug against ghdl. By the way, ghdl is not in wheezy anymore,
only in unstable.
Cheers,
Tobias

I filed a bug against ghdl, #695303, and it really needs gnat-4.4 for
now. The FTBFS of gnat-4.4 can probably be fixed in unstable by updating
it to the most recent version. But to fix #669513 in wheezy, gnat-4.4
should be removed. I'll file a request for that ok?
Cheers,
Tobias
