Package: gnome-photo-printer
Version: 0.7.0-1.1
Severity: minor
Hi!
While running geeqie I saw this:
=====
Desktop file '/usr/share/applications/gnome-photo-printer.desktop' should not include extension in Icon key: 'gnome-photo-printer.png'
=====
And indeed it has some issues:
=====
$ desktop-file-validate /usr/share/applications/gnome-photo-printer.desktop
/usr/share/applications/gnome-photo-printer.desktop: error: (will be fatal in the future): value "gnome-photo-printer.png" for key "Icon" in group "Desktop Entry" is an icon name with an extension, but there should be no extension as described in the Icon Theme Specification if the value is not an absolute path
/usr/share/applications/gnome-photo-printer.desktop: warning: boolean key "Terminal" in group "Desktop Entry" has value "0", which is deprecated: boolean values should be "false" or "true"
/usr/share/applications/gnome-photo-printer.desktop: error: value "Graphics" for string list key "Categories" in group "Desktop Entry" does not have a semicolon (';') as trailing character
=====
Thank you!
Best regards,
Nelson

[Message part 1 (text/plain, inline)]
Dear Debian maintainer,
The gnome-photo-printer Debian package, which you are the maintainer of, has
pending bug reports which include German translation updates and fixes for
Desktop files, namely bug number 631317 and 662978.
The German l10n team is now hunting the very last bits of missing localization
and your package went on our radar. Since translations are often involving
Desktop files, fixes are included in the NMU intent.
So, sorry for this, but the radar beeped at your package and here am I
with a possible NMU intent...:-)
In case you can't update your package, I hereby propose, as part of
a more general action of the Debian l10n German Task Force to build and
possibly upload a non-maintainer upload for this package in order to
fix these.
Of course, an upload made by you would even be better...:-)
Such changes are always harmless, which explains why I safely consider
building NMU's for such issues even though they're obviously non critical.
The schedule for the NMU (in case it happens, that is if you agree with
it or if I don't receive any answer in a week) is roughly the following:
Thursday, June 7, 2012 : send this notice
Thursday, June 14, 2012 : build the package and send it to my
sponsor (I'm a DM) to upload it to DELAYED/10-day,
send the NMU patch to the BTS.
Sunday, June 24, 2012 : NMU reaches incoming
Let me know, as soon as possible, if you have any kind of objection to
this process.
If you'd rather do the fix yourself, I will of course leave the package
alone. Same if you have reasons not to do the update now.
Regards
Helge
