Subject: ocrfeeder: Interprets Tesseract's version string as part of the OCRed text
Date: Mon, 27 Feb 2012 18:40:21 +0100
Package: ocrfeeder
Version: 0.7.7-2
Severity: normal

When using OCRFeeder with Tesseract, OCRFeeder interprets the version
string output by Tesseract as part of the recogniced text. The result is
that the output of OCRFeeder is full of 'Tesseract Open Source OCR Engine
v3.02 with Leptonica'.

Thanks for reporting this. At first sight it looks like a problem in
Tesseract, but I haven't looked into it yet.

Anyway, I've just talked to the upstream developer and he's aware of
the issue, so I'd expect a fix soon.

Here's the upstream bug report FYI:

Best regards,

There's a new OCRFeeder release with a fix for this, but there are
some issues with it (you can see them in the bug report) so I think
I'll wait for them to be solved before updating the Debian package.

It's been almost two weeks since this so here's a quick update: I've
been discussing the problem with upstream and there's a patch almost
ready, so expect a new release in the next days.
