Version: 1.2-4
Severity: wishlist

Apparently when using paste.debian.net from a browser, you get back
two URLs -- one to publish, and and one that allows you to redact the
paste ahead of time.

The latter is useful if you accidentally paste, say, a transcript that
contains your login password.

AFAIK pastebinit currently just throws away that second URL, meaning
that only the paste.debian.net site admin can redact the paste. It
would be quite useful if pastebinit kept this URL, although I don't
know how this could best be presented to the user.

Perhaps simply have each pastebinit run append to
~/.pastebinit/paste.log, with lines like

    <paste url> <redact url>

If the user needs to redact a paste, they can open that log up and hit
the redact URL.

Trent,

thank you for this interesting suggestion. May I kindly ask you to raise
this with the upstream devs at https://bugs.launchpad.net/pastebinit so
it can be dealt with more speedily? Thank you for your cooperation.

The idea of keeping a log could be beneficial not only for paste.debian.net.

Regards

Rolf
