Subject: texlive-base: Any reason not to package 2011 release?
Package: texlive-base
Version: 2009-13
Severity: wishlist
Hi,
Currently debian has 2009. Is there any reason not to have 2011
release?
Cheers,
Eugen

Time? Anyone willing to help?
I already prepared preliminary packages but nobody took a look at it.
Best wishes

If you think they are good (they work for you and have done basic
checks), push them to experimental maybe?
Cheers,

Far from functional, not even installable. But still people *could*
take a look at it.
Then there are patches that have to be updated, converison of features
due to the replacement of a shell script with a perl script, tousands of
things and me alone packaging 2011. It will take time.
If you need it now, just install it from the normal TeX Live and use
tlmgr. On the tug pages there is also an explanation how to build
an equivs package.

Is there any vcs for texlive available?
What about having it on git.debian.org, for example?
Thanks
