Hi Hector,

Do you know any armv7 system, which uses the glamo? I only know of
two devices having a glamo graphic chip: Openmoko GTA01 and Openmoko
GTA02 (also known as Freerunner). Both of them are armv5 based.

I doubt, that there will be any armv7+ based system using this chip,
since it's already a bottle neck on the slow Freerunner. I just
tried to find out if there are any successor chips of the company,
but their homepage [0] expired in 2009. I couldn't find any newer
information about the company, it may have died.

I suggest to build for armel only. In the unlikely case, that
somebody has an armv7+ based system with this chip he can just
report a bug.

What's the problem with adding 6 characters to debian/control?

I just don't think we should add useless packages to the archive.
I mean we don't know one single system which could use the armhf
version and it's not very likley that such a system exists or will
exist. If you don't know much about the Glamo chip you should read
this: http://tehinterweb.com/glamo.txt. A modern ARMv7 system can
probably do faster 3D in software and is not limited to 320x240 ;)

So for me it's a like building fso-usaged-openmoko for x86 in case
somebody builds a freerunner using an x86 processor.

But if you all think it makes sense, we can add it of course.

I don't know if it makes sense -- but if an experienced arm* porter
like zumbi asks for something I prefer to fulfill the request over
second-guessing their ideas; maybe that just means I'm too lazy :)

Cheers,
gregor

We could have been saved from guessing their ideas if they told "I have this
XXX ARM7 device with glamo and i want to run this driver".

Otherwise what's the point of adding package without any reason? And plain
request is not reason - no matter who is the requester.

Radek

Thanks gregor, but this time Sebastian is in the right path, I was
just having a crusade through xorg input and video drivers, and though
on enabling this bits, but truly there is no user case.
