I have a file with shell metacharacters such as "&" and "?" in the name.
Formerly, bash-completion would escape or quote the file name, but now
the entire file name with no escaping or quoting is placed on the
command line. This causes the command line to be invalid, or not the
desired action.
Example:
bminton@bminton:~/download/temp$ ls -la
total 3212
drwxr-xr-x 2 bminton bminton 112 Aug 17 16:15 ./
drwxrwx--x 9 bminton www-data 8192 Aug 17 16:15 ../

bminton@bminton:~/download/temp$ rm ./wxWidgets-2.9.2.tar.bz2?r=http:%2F%2Fwww.wxwidgets.org%2Fdownloads%2F&ts=1313610850&use_mirror=iweb ^C
