[Message part 1 (text/plain, inline)]
Package: uswsusp
Version: 0.7-1.2
Severity: serious
File: uswsusp
Tags: squeeze lenny

Description: When booting I get the following prompt:

resume: libgcrypt version 1.4.5
resume: could not stat the resume device file '# RESUME=/dev/sda6
UUID=UUID=031df595-f505-4653-a4d4-7c851f90dd10'
Please type in the full path name to try again or press
ENTER to boot the system:

Since this problem started when I upgraded some packages, including
uswsusp, which rebuilt initramfs I did the following:

swatantra:/home/vincent# update-initramfs -d -k 2.6.32-5-amd64
update-initramfs: Deleting /boot/initrd.img-2.6.32-5-amd64
swatantra:/home/vincent# update-initramfs -c -k 2.6.32-5-amd64
update-initramfs: Generating /boot/initrd.img-2.6.32-5-amd64
[: 33: #: unexpected operator

As soon as I uninstalled uswsusp the re-built initramfs boots normally.

Hi,

One of my machines is affected by the same problem (debian squeeze,
uswsusp 0.8-1.2+b1).
The prompt asks for the resume device whenever I did a s2disk or not.

Obviously, it also means that s2disk doesn't work at all on this machine.
I wasn't able to give uswsusp the correct resume device path (I tried a
lot very hard and googled for a while, did some `dpkg-reconfigure
uswsusp`, etc.).

The swap volume I use is an lvm2 volume (/dev/dm-2) labelled as "SWAP".
So, I tried the following to answer to the boot prompt:
/dev/dm-2
/dev/mapper/local-swap
/dev/local/swap
/dev/disk/by-label/SWAP
all of them failed.

Of course, a correct value (/dev/dm-2) is set into /etc/uswsusp.conf.

The problem occurred when using linux-image-2.6.32-5-686 and
linux-image-2.6.32-5-686-bigmem.

Thanks.
Nicolas

I think this problem is related (or even a dup of) #568877

if /etc/initramfs-tools/conf.d/resume file contains /dev/mapper/<vg>-<lv>, after running dpkg-reconfigure uswsusp, it should get fixed.
