Subject: Exporting in PDF selected pages of long documents pick up the wrong pagerange
Date: Sat, 13 Nov 2010 19:48:58 +0100
Package: libreoffice-writer
Version: 1:3.3.0~beta2-2
Severity: grave

Steps to reproduce

1. Take a very long document (100+ pages)
2. Export a specific subset of pages in PDF
3. Check if the pages exported are the correct one

LibreOffice export a wrong range of page (say you asked pages 355-360, you may end getting 358-363).

I classify the severity as grave as if you do not check the PDF before sending, you could end sending confidential data to people who should not see it. That is indeed what happened to me when I found this bug.

Here is the URI of a file which is affected by this issue http://www.pitonyak.org/AndrewMacro.odt

If you ask exporting page 355-360, you end up getting 358-363

It can't be a regression. There was no LibreOffice 3.2.1.
OpenOffice.org is an other product.

Sure. Because of this bug the whole OOo Writer is unusable? NO.

http://www.debian.org/Bugs/Developer.en.html#severities:

grave
makes the package in question unusable or mostly so, or causes data loss, or introduces a security hole allowing access to the accounts of users who use the package.
serious
is a severe violation of Debian policy (roughly, it violates a "must" or "required" directive), or, in the package maintainer's or release manager's opinion, makes the package unsuitable for release.
important
a bug which has a major effect on the usability of a package, without rendering it completely unusable to everyone.

which is nonsense.

grave
makes the package in question unusable or mostly so, or causes data loss, or introduces a security hole allowing access to the accounts of users who use the package.

It does not do either of that. Note the "allowing access to the accounts of users"

important
a bug which has a major effect on the usability of a package, without rendering it completely unusable to everyone.

fits more.

> as if you do not check the PDF before sending[...]

That's your fault then IMHO. Besides that 99.9% of use case of PDF would
be to export the whole document which then does not contain confidential info.

Sorry, I retract that. But I always get in serious bad mood (what you probably
also noticed in my other reply - where I also failed in cleaning the mail up) if
someone in this case you) files a bug with over-inflated severity.
