Comments/Problems:

1. Mirror failure. Note ... /debian//dists/squeeze ... Also failed
on Australian mirror - see log.
Nov 1 07:27:58 choose-mirror[2859]: DEBUG: command: wget -q
http://ftp.nz.debian.org/debian//dists/squeeze/Release -O - | grep -E
'^(Suite|Codename):'
Nov 1 07:27:58 choose-mirror[2859]: WARNING **: mirror does not support
the specified release (squeeze)

I have had same problem with other Squeeze installs done in the last few
days, yet I can access relevant part of NZ mirror OK via Firefox.
Moreover I can jigdo from NZ mirror successfully to make .iso file .

2. Grub installer identifies Windows XP on sda1 but does not create
entry for it. It worked OK the first time I did a Squeese install after
installing Windows. At that time there would have been a 'genuine'
Microsoft MBR. It seems to me Grub2 will not create further entries if
it detects an old Grub2 in the MBR. (bugs 599156 and 600484 seem to refer).

<Description of the install, in prose, and any thoughts, comments
and ideas you had during the initial install.>
Install went smoothly except for above bugs. A similar install a few
days ago from latest weekly build physical DVD (about 2010-10-25) also
showed the same bugs. Installed using priority=low but accepted
pre-seeded options in all appropriate places.

There were 'blue screen' pauses at:
before 'configure the network' (about 8 seconds)
during 'detect discs' (about 3 seconds)
The former one could be a bit confusing to someone not expecting
unexplained pauses.

There seem to be two sources of miscellaneous installation items
(various vmlinuz and initrd.gz files) at:
http://ftp.nl.debian.org/debian/dists/testing/main/installer-i386/current/images/hd-media/
http://people.debian.org/~joeyh/d-i/images/daily/hd-media/
You get one or the other depending on what ever 'paths' you take -
should this be unified?

That sounds like a broken mirror. NOthing the Debian Installer team
can really do about....
