* Package name    : atompaw
  Version         : 3.0
  Upstream Author : Marc Torrent <marc.torrent@cea.fr>
* URL             : http://www.wfu.edu/~natalie/papers/pwpaw/man.html
* License         : GPL
  Programming Lang: Fortran 90
  Description : PAW atomic dataset generator

The computer program atompaw generates projector and basis functions
which are needed for performing electronic structure calculations based
on the Projector-Augmented Wave (PAW) method. The program is applicable
to materials throughout the periodic table. It produces an output file
containing the projector and basis functions and the corresponding
matrix elements in a form which can be read be the PWPAW and ABINIT
codes. Additional data files are also produced which can be used to
help evaluate the accuracy and efficiency of the generated functions.

This package will be part of the Debian Science nanoscale-physics
metapackage.

We have made a lot of progress, in a very fruitful collaboration with
upstream developers. I'll ask for a sponsor as soon as Lintian is
sufficiently happy with the package.

We have been testing different versions of a preliminary package for
the last few months.

Collaboration with upstream is very positive and truly active. Things
are moving extremely well. Improvements and suggestions are exchanged
both ways.

I'll very soon ask for a sponsor, since IMHO the package is in a very
good shape.

Subject: Multi-distribution package in preparation

[Message part 1 (text/plain, inline)]
Hi,

Due to the diversity of configurations available in our scientific
network (http://etsf.eu/), we have decided to prepare all our packages
for different Debian-based distributions at once:

  * Debian Squeeze
  * Debian Wheezy
  * Ubuntu Lucid Lynx
  * Ubuntu Precise Pangolin
  * Mint 13

I'm currently preparing helper scripts to facilitate the task and will
be in touch with the respective packager teams.

We expect to have some packages ready this Summer.

Best regards,

Yann.

retitle 602093 RFP: atompaw -- PAW atomic dataset generator
noowner 602093
tag 602093 - pending
thanks

Hi,

This is an automatic email to change the status of atompaw back from ITP
(Intent to Package) to RFP (Request for Package), because this bug hasn't seen
any activity during the last 12 months.

If you are still interested in adopting atompaw, please send a mail to
<control@bugs.debian.org> with:

 retitle 602093 ITP: atompaw -- PAW atomic dataset generator
 owner 602093 !
 thanks

However, it is not recommended to keep ITP for a long time without acting on
the package, as it might cause other prospective maintainers to refrain from
packaging that software. It is also a good idea to document your progress on
this ITP from time to time, by mailing <602093@bugs.debian.org>.

Thank you for your interest in Debian,

Hi,

I've created a Git repository on git.debian.org and will upload the
package data soon. I'll file a RFS as soon as the test stage is over.

Subject: Packaging strategy update
Date: Fri, 28 Mar 2014 17:41:01 +0100
[Message part 1 (text/plain, inline)]
Hi,

We're currently discussing the creation of a generic library for
Density-Functional Theory (DFT), where the current package could be
included partly or fully. We're thus reshaping our packaging strategy
accordingly.

More news as soon as possible.

Best regards,

Yann.
