Package: xserver-xorg-video-radeon
Version: 1:6.13.1-2
Tags: squeeze
When playing videos, they appear very dark; only black and blue colors
show up. This happens when using Xv, in any video player (vlc,
totem-gstreamer, mplayer, etc). If I tell mplayer to use '-vo x11'
rather than xv, videos will display normally. I've attached a
screenshot of a Daily Show episode playing; as you can see, it's pretty
dark.

is that better with an up-to-date squeeze X stack and kernel?

Yeah, it looks to be fixed (glad you pinged, I would've continued using
-vo x11 if you hadn't). Closing..
