I'm using update-notifier inside Xfce; clicking on it seems to start
update-manager-gnome. Upgrades done using this tool seem to be lacking some
functionality. A excerpt from the Installing Updates terminal, _hidden by

I don't know whether any of the packages in the upgrade would have asked me
something or not. Not even the Readline interface was provided in the
