Package: amule
Version: 2.2.6+debian0-8
Severity: minor
Tags: patch
User: ubuntu-devel@lists.ubuntu.com
Usertags: origin-ubuntu maverick ubuntu-patch
In an effort to improve usability and make it easier for users to choose
applications from Ubuntu Software Center, we are trying to make
application desciptions simpler. Some of the problems users face is listed:
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/SoftwareCenter/PackageDescriptions
While the package description for aMule is good , main description contains
information about how to install the daemonized version and the systray
working in Gnome and KDE , the users are finding this sort of information
confusing. And information about the daemonized version need not be present
in the package details.
Attaching a patch which removes this extra information from the main
package's description.
Kindly apply the patch.
Cheers,
Vish

do you have any proof of that (or it's just a supposition)?

Sorry, but your reasoning is way too weak, the patch is not going to
be applied (but thanks for your efforts!). Closing the report.

The wiki[1] contains information from *real* user-testing data..
That's not my supposition.
Not sure what kind of real proof we are expecting here.

that page contains NO data at all, just a synthesis of users reports
(or whatever information you've retrieved in someway).
> Not sure what kind of real proof we are expecting here.
proofs from *real* users that amule description is confusing
Again, nothing to fix here, and I'm not even interested in discussing
it further.
