I know php5-timezonedb package has been removed from Debian testing, unstable
and experimental, but it seems php5 still needs it. On my system I all 30
minutes receive the following mail:

/var/lib/php5 ] && find /var/lib/php5/ -type f -cmin
+$(/usr/lib/php5/maxlifetime) -print0 | xargs -n 200 -r -0 rm

Maybe you have to purge it with
dpkg --purge php5-timezonedb
?
Anyway, I'm copying the original maintainer so he can comment.

Yes, the package needs to be purged. The problem is how the ini files are
handled by php, but we already plan to address that for squeeze.
There's not much else that can be done than manually purging it. When the new
extensions manager is used by the php5 packages the warning will go away, but
the conffile will still exist in /etc/php5/conf.d until it is purged.
I'm reassigning it to php5 and merging it with the previous reports so that
the reporter get copied once the new extensions manager is introduced.
Martin, thanks for forwarding it.
Cheers,
