Hi

libforks-perl 0.34-1 FTBFS only on armel, see [1]. I would like to
retry a rebuild to see if this only a temporary error. Would it be
possible to give back libforks-perl on armel?

I built this without problems on my Orion and up-to-date sid [0]. I've
been running v2.6.33, .32 and I even tried Debian's .24 as the buildd
did [1]. Nothing. libc6 is almost untouched comparing todays version and
that one from the build log. No clue why it fails on Gregor's box and
the buildd.

My Orion has a Feroceon rev 0 (v5l) CPU. Is it possible to trigger a
build on those buildds to see how it goes?

[1] Well, the buildd used -iop32x and I had orion5x. Both are armv5tel.

Hia,

I'd advise against just multiple retries, that won't fly from a release
point of view as it'll need to be built reliably for security updates.

Package: libforks-perl
Version: 0.34-1
Severity: normal

This package could be removed in order to close the RC bug - gscan2pdf is the
only reverse dependency and appears to be usable without libforks-perl (falling
back to the internal perl threads support which gscan2pdf used in earlier
versions).

If this checks out, this bug can be reassigned to release.debian.org for
removal from testing.

The failure may well be because of #595397 / #595403 : POSIX::sigaction
seems to be somehow broken on armel, and as a result libsys-sigaction-perl
(a dependency of libforks-perl) fails its own test suite.

As I said in #595397, one possible outcome is that we have to remove
libsys-sigaction-perl/armel and therefore also libforks-perl/armel,
indirectly solving this bug too :)

Nobuhiro: does the libsys-sigaction-perl test suite pass for you on sh4?

Yes, I tested libsys-sigaction-perl on sh4.
Test was clear.I attached buildlog of sh4.

 dpkg-genchanges >../libforks-perl_0.34-1_armel.changes
dpkg-genchanges: including full source code in upload
 dpkg-source --after-build libforks-perl-0.34
dpkg-buildpackage: full upload (original source is included)

Could you give it back on armel? And close this bugreport if appropiate?

Best regards,
