Hi,
This is an automatic email to change the status of misterhouse back from ITP
(Intent to Package) to RFP (Request for Package), because this bug hasn't seen
any activity during the last 6 months.
If you are still interested in adopting misterhouse, please send a mail to
<control@bugs.debian.org> with:

owner 586135 !
thanks
However, it is not recommended to keep ITP for a long time without acting on
the package, as it might cause other prospective maintainers to refrain from
packaging that software. It is also a good idea to document your progress on
this ITP from time to time, by mailing <586135@bugs.debian.org>.
Thank you for your interest in Debian,

To: The main list for the MisterHouse home automation program
<misterhouse-users@lists.sourceforge.net>
Hello All,
The stable branch of the MisterHouse git repo has been updated to v3.0.
If you want to know what changed, the changelog is here:
https://github.com/hollie/misterhouse/wiki/Changelog#v30-20130620
If you are running stable already then updating to this new version is
as easy as running 'git pull'.
A big thanks to everyone for keeping the awesome project alive! Beyond
the code, there is a lot of work that goes into this project including
bug reporting, patch testing, and documentation writing. MisterHouse
has been and always continue to be a team effort.

Thanks to Lieven’s hard work, a new stable has been released on github. While
there are lots of fixes and changes, the big reason for the major version
increment is the new IA7 responsive interface. Thanks again to Kevin to
developing the seed of this interface 2014/2015. While there is still work to
do, it’s a huge step forward.
Changelog: https://github.com/hollie/misterhouse/wiki/Changelog

Contributors: https://github.com/hollie/misterhouse/graphs/contributors
<https://github.com/hollie/misterhouse/graphs/contributors>
One other major change is that ‘perltidy’ has been run against the repository.
This makes the code easier to read, but it means that almost every file has
changed. For those of you running from master, you’ll need to update to ensure
that future pull requests work properly.
Work can now start up for v4.1. I already have a few updates to add; audio &
banners for IA7, and with Garry & Tim’s help, homekit support.
MH still is the best open-source home automation system out there. What else
has support for zwave, insteon, xAP, nest, pushbullet, opensprinkler, X10, 1
wire, homekit and the "LitterFree Automatic Flushing Cat Litter Box” :)

It does not look like I'll be able to get a Debian package for Misterhouse
into Debian in time to be included into the next stable Debian version (v9;
'Stretch'), but I am still interested in packaging it so I will be
continuing to work on it as I can.
Note that I do plan to make a public git repository specifically for the
Debian packaging, likely to be called 'pkg-misterhouse' and likely pushed
to alioth. More on that when it happens.

It's been a little over a year, and there's been a surprising amount of
updates, enhancements, and new features added to MH! Looking at the pull

- Integration with 2 major voice control systems, Alexa & Siri
- "Continuous Integration" when submitting pull requests to catch errors
quickly

the IA7 Model. See Schedule.PM for more advanced usage.
- Push Notifications and browser audio
- Object Logger - see the entire history of device changes.
- Updated floorplan -- developer mode allows interactive placement.
Still some placement issues however
- Support for RRDTool 1.5.1+
- Authentication - colored gear, and a dynamic log in/out button
- IA7ized a bunch of IA5 stuff. Triggers, comics, email,
- Purple button for unknown state (ia7_config state_colors allows for
color overrides)
- Support for $config_parms in the collections.json
- Logging issues or errors to the print log when parsing
collections.json
- View the ia7_config and rrd_config on the about mr.house page.
- New Modules added

I decided to redo what I use for a packaging repository and now have
that at https://github.com/rocasa/pkg-misterhouse. Because the
remaining DFSG issues have not yet been resolved, an orig.tar.gz
archive has not yet been finalized but when that can happen, I plan in
import it into pristine-tar and upstream branches for upstream
versions being worked on.
In the mean time, the master branch in the repository basically only
contains the debian/ directory. Note also that while there may be
still be updates needed for the Files-Excluded section in
debian/copyright, what's currently present can be used by uscan with
the current debian/watch file to create a dfsg repacked orig archive.
For example; currently it creates a file named
misterhouse_4.2+dsfg.orig.tar.gz.
Note also that upstream is working on a new release and it may be for
version 5.0 rather than just version 4.3.

A new version of MisterHouse was released on 31 October 2017 and it
did indeed turn out to be version 5.0. I will be continuing with the
packaging effort, using the new version as the basis of it.

The version 5.0 release is still the most recent and I will still be
basing the debian packaging on that.
