Hi Jonas!

I've seen you've filed an ITP for openoctave. In the meantime, they have
their second release, commonly named oom2.

I guess there will be oom3 one day, hence I decided to name the source
package oom:

   http://git.debian.org/?p=pkg-multimedia/oom.git

Let's start the work? ;)

Cheers

PS: If you think "openoctave" would be more appropriate, we can rename
the project.

Great addition guys, great to see, it's very impressive app. In speaking
to Alex the developer it is still Beta and there are multiple daily
commits, but it's coming along very quickly. Plug in support is pretty
dodgy and LV2 is not a high priority currently. Thanks for getting it into
the system!

Hi,

it seems to me we don't even have the package in Debian yet, altough
there is an ITP (#578787), and a git repo:
http://anonscm.debian.org/gitweb/?p=pkg-multimedia/oomidi.git

It seems to me that 'oomidi' might not be the best name for the
package. How about renaming it to openoctave?

Just to clarify, Jonas, Adrian, are you still interested and working on
the package? I personally won't have time and hardware to work on it,
but it seems to me that the package is a bit in the limbo since April.

In any case, I think a working package and a watch file is more useful
for pkg-multimedia than subscribing to yet another mailinglist. But YMMV.

Cheers,
Reinhard

retitle 578787 RFP: openoctave -- MIDI and audio sequencer and musical notation editor
noowner 578787
tag 578787 - pending
thanks

Hi,

This is an automatic email to change the status of openoctave back from ITP
(Intent to Package) to RFP (Request for Package), because this bug hasn't seen
any activity during the last 12 months.

If you are still interested in adopting openoctave, please send a mail to
<control@bugs.debian.org> with:

retitle 578787 ITP: openoctave -- MIDI and audio sequencer and musical notation editor
 owner 578787 !
 thanks

However, it is not recommended to keep ITP for a long time without acting on
the package, as it might cause other prospective maintainers to refrain from
packaging that software. It is also a good idea to document your progress on
this ITP from time to time, by mailing <578787@bugs.debian.org>.

Thank you for your interest in Debian,
